RATING ~ 5 SWICKED STARS

Me + This book + Chocolate = Paradise.

In this book, Mari and Trystan come back to finish where they left off. Katie and Seth also return, and I must say, Katie is my absolute favorite character in this series. The main conflict in this book is a good one. Trystan gets into a situation where he needs help(Can’t say anymore than that), and Mari is having trouble with her parents.

Whenever I read a Trystan Scott book, I find myself enjoying it so much that I ignore everyone and everything around me. It annoys some people, but I frankly don’t care. Why? It’s a swicked awesome book. ((Swicked: A mix of swag/super and wicked. Used only when a book is completely and totally awesome through and through.))

So, I see a lot of people complaining about how short these books are. Here is what I have to say to that. Ahem. *clears throat*. “It’s an awesome book. Who cares if it’s short? IF IT’S SHORT, THAT MEANS WE GET A LONGER SERIES; WHICH IS ACTUALLY IN OUR FAVOR.”  😀 That is what I have to say.

Now let’s take a moment for me to say what my favorite part of this book is. I’ll have to go with the part where Trystan earns a new respect for Katie when she argues with Seth. Best. Part. Ever.

The ending of this book, like the previous one, is a cliffhanger. Then I realize that there’s going to be a 5th book and I’m so excited! Then I go:

Now, this I have to say. I feel terrible for Mari and Trystan. Their parents just flat out suck. Which is sad, because they’re such good characters and deserve better!

Anyways, this book gets……*DRUMROLL* 5 SWICKED STARS. It was awesome. It had swag. It was wicked. It was cool. It was swicked. It gets the official seal of awesomeness.

5 stars, books are better, book reviews, best in YA books, best YA novels

If you’ve read the previous 3 Trystan Scott books, get this one. Also, if you’ve read or taken a peek at Kiera Cass’s The Prince, get this series. I mean it.

RATING ~ 5 AWESOME STARS! A MUST READ!

By. The. Angel. This rocked!!!!!!!!!!

I needed something to read one night, so I remembered this series. I found myself buying the book, then finishing it within 4 days time. Clary Fray, Jace Lightwood, Simon Lewis, Isabelle and Alec Lightwood, and Magnus Bane are back in book 4 of The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare! The main conflict? Someone is murdering Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine’s circle, causing unrest and tension between the Downworlders and Shadowhunters.

This book……Just cracked me up so freaking bad. It was hilarious, with witty remarks and just outright awesomeness.Want some examples? ^-^ I have plenty.

“Is this one of those keep-your-friends-close-and-your-enemies-closer things?”
“I though it was keep your friends close so you have someone to drive the car when you sneak over to your enemy’s house at night and throw up in his mailbox.”

“As long as everyone’s wearing their own pants.”
“I see I have come in on a fascinating moment in the conversation.”

Simon looked from one of them to the other, and shook his head. “ When did you two get so buddy-buddy? Last night it was all, ‘I’m the most elite warrior!’ ‘No, I’m the most elite warrior!’ And today you’re playing Halo and giving each other props for good ideas.”

“If we’re going to the Silent City, you might want to get dressed. I mean, I appreciate the bra-and-panties look, but I don’t know if the Silent Brothers will. There are only a few of the left, and I don’t want the to die of excitement.”

See what I mean? It’s awesome! ☺

Now, I have something to say. There’s a minor character in this book. A girl that’s 14-years old. She was sweet and kind….But the way the author wrote it made the teenager seem like she was 10. *facepalm* Why?! I’m a teenager, as you all know, and I know that that character should’ve been a bit more mature.

I have just one more negative comment. Jace…..was a bit mushy in this book. 🙁 And I think I can understand why, but I wish that he was like in the previous books, ya know? Not as mushy. He was still the king of sarcasm though. 🙂

Well, that’s pretty much it! I’ll be getting the 5th book soon, and watching the City of Bones movie that comes out in August 2013. 😉 This book get five stars! Congratz, Cassandra! Good work! LOVE THIS BOOK.

5 stars, books are better, book reviews, best in YA books, best YA novels

I recommend to Cassandra Clare’s fans, of course. Ages 13-Adults should take a peek. 😉 But only if you’ve read the previous three books! Also, if you’ve read  the Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare, defiantly read this series.

RATING ~ 5 HEAVENLY STARS

Team Tucker!

Sorry folks, but I had to get that out. Anyways, Clara Gardner returns in the final book of the Unearthly Trilogy!  So sad that this is the last book, but was so awesome.

The main conflict in this has to be…Ummm, this is gonna be hard to say. Errrm, lemme try again. The main conflict in this book is..Clara. Yes, yes, it’s about her. Uh-derrr! But what I’m trying to say is that, if you’ve read the first two books in this series, you know that Clara is different from other angel-bloods. Well, in this book, she’s been having a vision. A vision of an upcoming battle.

I have to say this. Christian. Kicks. Major booty. 😀 In this book, he’s around very, very often. I enjoy reading his character, but(Don’t be mad at me Clara+Christian lovers!)…..I don’t want him to be Clara’s boyfriend. I have to say that I like Tucker more than Christian. Ever since the first book. Christian is neat, cool, maybe a little funny. But I like that Tucker is awesome, works on a farm, and has a horse named after a dude in Greek mythology that turned things gold. 😛

This book had humor and action scenes in it. The first thing that comes to find when I try to think of something that made me grin in this book it this:

Hell stinks.

Hehehe. XD. So true, so very true.

Now, here’s something else I have to say. This book is SO not parent approved. They say ‘crap’ often, but it’s something else that makes it not parent approved. Something that I can’t say otherwise it’ll be a major spoiler.

I think that this book is more YA than the others. True, the others were YA, but people in middle school could read them. Now, I think that if you want to read this book, you have to be in high school. Or very mature. Of have to be a serious fan of Cynthia Hand.

This book, if I add it all up, gets 5 stars(Duh!). It. Was. AWESOME. Mark my words..

5 stars, books are better, book reviews, best in YA books, best YA novels

I recommend to teens who are mature and big fans of Cynthia Hand. Ages 14(Maybe 15)-Adult can handle this book. If you’ve read the previous ones in the series, give it a shot! If you enjoy stuff that’s sorta paranormal, like angels, this book is for you.

But, the look on Mari’s face–the way she kissed him–makes Trystan think that confessing his feelings was worth the risk.

RATING ~ 5 STAR OF COOLNESS

This book was wicked cool(No pun intended).

Mari and Trystan are back in this romance by H.M. Ward. We’ve returned to New York to see the third installment of The Secret of Trystan Scott series. The main conflict is, basically, that Mari and Trystan are having some trouble at home.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was happy! Whoo hoo! Happy book, happy book! I’m usually not into romance stories or anything, but I seem to be hooked on H.M. Ward’s series. 🙂 I enjoy Mari’s character big time and I was happy to read from her point of view!

Trystan is a cool guy that is awesome. I love his sense of humor so so so so much! But I wish he had a different best friend, because Seth the Sexbot is seriously a jerk…And annoying.

I was so NOT prepared for the ending. I have to wait for the next book! At least I don’t have to wait a year like I have to do for some books. It was a cliffhanger that’s going to keep me thinking about what’s gonna happen next until I get my hands on the next book.

Overall……I have to say this book gets………….5 STARS! TA DA! As always, H.M. Ward freaking rocks!

5 stars, books are better, book reviews, best in YA books, best YA novels

I recommend to ages 13-Adults, romance lovers, just about ALL teenagers, and H.M. Ward’s fans! 😀

DESCRIPTION: ”

When Mari realizes that Trystan is the internet megastar, Day Jones, she can’t speak. Every time she listens to his song, it leaves her feeling so much. That song is bewitching. Everyone she knows has heard it. As soon as it appeared on YouTube, it went viral, and then the guy who wrote it disappeared. Despite agents and record labels trying to lure Day5705 out, he remains anonymous. No one knows who Day Jones really is–except Mari.

To Trystan’s relief, Mari agrees to keep his secret. Part of him regrets uploading the song, but when he sings to Mari the song that once brought him solace, it fills him joy. In a life like his, joy is fleeting and Trystan plans on grabbing hold whenever a shot at happiness appears. To his surprise, Mari doesn’t realize the song is about her. When Trystan tries to push her to see, he jeopardizes losing her entirely.

One misplaced kiss topples the fragile relationship, leaving Trystan reeling, trying to assemble the pieces and convincing Mari that she’s not just another conquest, even though everything he did–everything he said–makes it seem like she is. It isn’t until Mari decides that being the good girl isn’t working that things steam up. Trystan knows she wants to hook up with someone, and he doesn’t know if he should stop her. Every attempt he makes to win her over goes bad and pushes her further away.

As the world gets one day closer to tracking down Day Jones, Trystan is one day closer to graduation and leaving this life forever. If Mari doesn’t realize he loves her by then, she never will.”

RATING ~ 5 STARS OF AMAZINGNESS!

It makes sense that cover is awesome, because this book is awesome!

Trystan and Mari have returned, along with their complicated lives. Mari now know’s Trystan’s secret, but isn’t planning on telling anyone. The main conflict in this book is…..Dun, dun, dun! They don’t know they like each other, and by like each other, I mean more than friends. The book takes place in New York, the big N.Y.

I seriously enjoyed Mari’s best friend in this book. Katie just freaking rocked! Loooooove Katie!!!! She has a fun personality and an awesome attitude. I enjoyed reading what she said about knowing her parents already think she’s nuts. Here’s a quote from the book that made me love Katie even more!:

Her head titled to the side and her eyebrows crept up her face. It was her uh-durrr face, she was just too kind to actually say it to me.

Katie + that comment = AWESOMER.

The ending of this book was cute and sweet. :’) I enjoy Trystan’s sense of humor and how he and Mari had a tickle fight. The ending made me want the next book, Riptide, even more! Luckily, I had bought it before I’d even finished Backdraft. 😉 I think Tucker, the acting/drama teacher, enjoys his job…..But I wouldn’t want him as my teacher.

To sum it all up, the book was freaking awesome. I’m usually not a sucker for romance books, but I’m hooked on this series. 😀 5 STARS!!!!!!!! WHOO HOO!

RATING 5 STARS

The City of Glass was awesome! Oh yeah!

In this book, Clary and the gang have returned. 🙂 This book takes place in the City of Glass, the home of the Shadowhunters. This book’s main conflict is….Clary has entered the City of Glass to find a way to get her mother out of a magical coma. A little weird I guess, but still a good conflict.

This book has action, romance, and lots of twists and turns. There were some pretty hilarious parts. Here’s an example:

Malachi scowled. “I don’t remember the Clave inviting you into the Glass City, Magnus Bane.”
“They didn’t,” Magnus said. “Your wards are down.”
“Really?” the Consul’s voice dripped sarcasm. “I hadn’t noticed.”
Magnus looked concerned. “That’s terrible. Someone should have told you.” He glanced at Luke. “Tell him the wards are down.”

I was laughing my head off at that. Magnus Bane is awesome! I enjoyed all of the twists in this book, but it did get a little confusing at times. :/

I enjoyed the action more than the romance in this book. The romance was confusing , sense it kept getting more complicated. Clary and Jace, Jace and someone else, Clary and Simon, then back to Clary and Jace. Honestly, romance shouldn’t be this confusing.

The ending was super cool and I liked it..A lot. 😀 All in all, this book was amazing, a must read, a five star book. 🙂

5 stars, books are better, book reviews, best in YA books, best YA novels

I recommend to teens and adults. People who enjoy paranormal, romance, and paranormal/action/romance. If you’ve checked out The Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1), you should enjoy this. 🙂

But the Shadowhunting world isn’t ready to let her go—especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary’s only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil—and also her father.
To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings—and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

RATING 4 STARS!

The first time I saw this series, I didn’t want to read it……NOW I WANT TO READ IT AS FAST AS POSSIBLE!

Clarissa ‘Clary’ Fray is back in this book, along with Jace, Isabelle, Alec, Simon, and Magnus. And of course our very much hated villain: Valentine. The book takes place in Brooklyn once again! The main conflict is cool in this book, to me at least. The Mortal Sword has been stolen and Jace is being accused.

I really liked this book a lot. The book had the right amount of action, funnies, romance, and feelings put together. It’s hard to accomplish that. Simon had a lot of problems in this book, but he was my favorite character, along with Alec. The middle was my favorite section of the book. I enjoyed it immensely, especially this: ‘Haha? That’s your comeback?’ 😛

The ending was awesome! Another action scene! Oh yeah baby! 😀 Simon…..Simon’s life stinks majorly. Again? Seriously Cassandra? You did it three times in the book. Three times! Clary’s love life stinks also. I personally think she should be with Alec is he weren’t….You know.

Above all, 4 stars! Keep up the good work Cassandra! 🙂

ya book review, teen book review, best of teen books

I recommend to Cassandra Clare lovers, of course! YA, paranormal, magic, and romance lovers all alike will enjoy this action packed drama! Also, I recommend to ages Teen-Adult. If you’ve read The City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1) or The Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1), you’ll want to look at this. 🙂
